Lean Operations Playshop: A Series of Interactive Exercises Demonstrating Lean Benefits (Full Day Session)

Abstract:

This two-hour “playshop” utilizes hands-on exercises to engage participants in role-play simulations that are guaranteed to provide valuable lessons learned. The audience will observe, appreciate, and understand lean benefits. Most importantly, they will REMEMBER these years later, a key to providing attendees with more than theory: they will be able to APPLY the concepts at work.

 

The following exercises will utilize simple props such as cards, dice, coins, bingo chips and Legos. Attendees are certain to have fun, which enhances the learning experience.

One of the hardest aspects of leading is building the right team and then leading it so it is a well-functioning group of people. Most of the time it is not the skills of the people that interfere with team work but instead the personalities and the perspective the individuals hold that interferes with the success of a team. Internal Auditor Training

Abstract:

This course teaches a general understanding of the concepts of the ISO 9001 standard and the principles and practices of effective internal audits in accordance with ISO 19011. It will explain the clauses of ISO 9001:2015 in detail and guide students through internal audits that are required for a quality management system based on ISO 9001:2015 and the new upcoming standards. Students will gain necessary auditing skills through a balance of formal classroom tutorials, practical role-playing, group workshops, and open forum discussions. This class is designed to increase the understanding of the ISO 9001 Quality Management System standard which allows companies improve the quality of their products and services and ultimately increase business and market share.

 

Learning Objectives/Outcomes:

• Understand quality management definitions, concepts, and guidelines

• Understand the purpose of the ISO 9000 series

• Understand the requirements of the ISO 9001:2015 standard

• Understand the roles and responsibilities of the auditor

• Apply ISO 19011 definitions, concepts, and guidelines

• Recognize he principles, practices, and types of audits

• Conduct all phases of an internal audit

• Prepare and present effective reports

 

Certifications and Logistics:

There are written tests on each of the competency units. Certificates of Attainment in each competency unit will be provided for students who are deemed "Competent" for each competency unit. Certificates of attendance are provided to those who do not pass the competency test(s), and students will be given the opportunity to retake the test(s).

Introductory Excel Skills: Morning Session

Abstract:

This will be a hands on training session for those beginning to use Microsoft Excel. This session will include a discussion of excel basics and cover topics such as opening files in excel, converting data types, cell referencing, formatting, sorting, basic functions (sum, average, max/min, count), inserting graphs, and shortcuts. Please bring your laptop with you to this interactive session.

Intermediate Excel Skills: Afternoon Session

Abstract:

This will be a hands on training session for the intermediate user of Microsoft Excel. This session will include a brief overview of excel basics and cover topics such as text functions (used primarily to clean data), conditional formatting, logical statements, IF functions (including nesting functions), lookups, Index/match, name manager, filters/tables, data validation, pivot tables/charts and shortcuts. Please bring your laptop with you to this interactive session.
