Quality Manager - Power Drives Inc. - Buffalo (Aug 2018)



Objective: Ensure all products conform to customer expectations for fit, form, and function by maintaining compliance to the current quality management system, by developing new and creative improvements to the system, or by implementing new quality systems as lead by customer expectations. Ensure the development and training for all division employees in the application of PDI approved quality system. Act as a "hands on" manager that is actively involved in the day to day activities as well as setting and implementing the goals and plans for short and long term objectives.


Minimum Requirements:

• 4 year technical degree preferred

• 5 years Quality Management

• Experience in automotive quality systems - IATF - 16949

• Working knowledge of lean preferred

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Organize, implement and manage all activities to maintain compliance to Quality System requirements

• Coordinate and direct activities involved in the corrective and preventive action process

• Analysis and reporting of quality issues including but not limited to: defects - internal, customer, supplier

• Analysis and reporting of cost of quality including detection, evaluation and corrective action which contribute to the cost of poor quality

• Coordinate and direct activities involved in the calibration and maintenance of measurement and test equipment

• Coordinate and direct the Quality department activities in APQP and PPAP related processes

• Coordinate and direct the Quality department activities in development, maintenance and revision of Control Plans and process FMEAs

• Maintain appropriate staffing (levels and skills set) to ensure efficient operation of the Quality organization

• Assist in the performance and analysis of results from system, process and product audits

• Develop and report on quality metrics that ensure quality goals are met

• Improve process control through improved capability and error-proofing

• Mentor and provide guidance to subordinates to increase skill set and provide a productive learning oriented work environment

• Establish/maintain continuous improvement processes that eliminate waste

• Develop or recommend quality related training programs and provide appropriate training to team members

• Provide exceptional customer service for both internal and external customers

• Ensure proper coordination of activities with other functional departments to ensure customer satisfaction and internal requirements are adhered to

• Other tasks as assigned by Corporate Management

Quality Engineer - Power Drives Inc. - Buffalo (Aug 2018)



Objective: Perform analysis, research and testing to promote a technical understanding of the processes involved in quality. Promote and be actively involved in the process improvement activities, perform duties as assigned by management in regard to new product development, part approval processes, and calibrations and test methodologies.


Minimum Requirements:

• 2 Year Technical Degree

• 4 Year Degree Preferred

• 2 Years Manufacturing Quality Experience

• Experience in Automotive Quality Systems ISO/TS

• Experience writing and maintaining Control Plans, PFMEAs, Process Flow Diagrams and Quality Work Instructions

• Experience in problem solving techniques, specifically 3 Legged, 5 Why and 8D

• Experience in PPAP process



Job Requirements:

• Working knowledge of MS office suite (Excel, Word, Powerpoint, etc…)

• High level of verbal and written communications skills

• Ability to manage and prioritize multiple priorities

• Working knowledge of AIAG standard practices

• Ability to work with minimal supervision

• Working knowledge of calibration system



Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Verification and validation APQP activities

• Management of PDI's calibration system

• Review and submission of all customer PPAP requests

• Review and approval of all vendor PPAP submissions

• Vendor returns and associated Corrective Actions

• Participating in PDI's LPA and internal system audit processes

• Supervising facility Quality Technicians

• Maintenance of PDI's PFD, Control Plans, Gage R&R's, and Inspection Systems

• Communicating with the customer in regards to APQP, Corrective Action, Product/Process Improvement

• Participating in PDI's supplier improvement program

• Performing on site vendor evaluations

• Participating in PDI's continuous improvement process

• Manage and maintain the planning and execution of PDI's verification and validation processes from RFQ through production to ensure proper controls are consistently utilized by both PDI and our vendors.

• Other duties as assigned by the facility Quality Manager
